Lenin Erasmo Luna Mota, a 52-year-old resident of Hagerstown, Maryland, has confessed to leading a drug trafficking ring in Berkeley County. His operation involved distributing large quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine. Known as "Papi," Luna Mota utilized his business in Hagerstown as a key location for drug transactions, as detailed in court documents.

The prosecution, represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher, outlined the case against Luna Mota. Several law enforcement agencies were involved in investigating the operation, including the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, among others.

This investigation was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which is focused on identifying and disrupting high-level criminal organizations in the United States. Such operations employ a strategy driven by multiple agencies under a prosecutor's leadership.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi oversaw the legal proceedings. Further information about the OCDETF Program is available at the Justice Department’s website.
