Trump administration officials discuss public safety strategies in Washington, D.C

U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin Jr. recently hosted Thomas Homan, White House Executive Associate Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations, at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. The meeting, which took place on April 16, 2025, was an opportunity for discussions regarding immigration issues, crime, and the "Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful" initiative, initiated by President Donald J. Trump.

“The U.S. Attorney’s Office was honored to welcome Executive Associate Director Homan to our space,” stated U.S. Attorney Martin. “We had a productive conversation, he had the opportunity to brief our staff and take their questions, and it was great to have him here.”

Executive Associate Director Homan met with members of the U.S. Attorney’s Office to discuss issues pertinent to the district. Martin emphasized that the office focuses on a range of federal crimes, including those committed by violent transnational criminal enterprises.

Both Martin and Homan have expressed their commitment to aligning strategies to improve public safety in the District of Columbia. Martin highlighted his role in overseeing cases in both Superior Court and District Court as unique responsibilities he bears as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
