United States Attorney David Metcalf revealed that Nyesha D. Paris, also known as Nyesha D. Henderson and Nyesha D. Jackson, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 20 months in prison. The ruling was made by United States District Court Judge Joel H. Slomsky. In addition to the prison term, Paris is to serve five years of supervised release, pay restitution of $545,993 to victims, a forfeiture money judgment of $84,008, and complete 150 hours of community service.

Paris was indicted in February 2023, subsequently pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, bank fraud, and health care fraud in January 2024.

The charges stem from various fraudulent activities conducted between 2018 and 2023, resulting in over $600,000 in losses to 15 victims. One scheme involved Paris and associates stealing over $40,000 in merchandise and gift cards from Lowe's Home Improvement using a shell company and fake business accounts.

In another case, Paris illegally procured over $120,000 in pandemic assistance loans through the Paycheck Protection Program by falsely inflating payroll, submitting fabricated documents, and wrongly certifying her companies’ operation as of February 2020.

Additionally, Paris falsely billed Medicaid nearly $150,000 for home health services allegedly provided by her business, which were not delivered.

Overall, Paris was involved in more than a dozen fraud schemes, some of which occurred after she was warned by the FBI about being under investigation.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI, with the prosecution handled by Assistant United States Attorneys David Ignall and Samuel Dalke.
