Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Jonathan Subh-Marcano, a 28-year-old resident of Waterbury, pleaded guilty in the New Haven federal court. The charge was for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The court documents reported that Subh-Marcano was arrested on August 15, 2024, following a search of his residence. Authorities found approximately 300 bags of fentanyl, around 30 grams of crack cocaine, a loaded Polymer 80 "ghost gun," additional ammunition, and more than $9,000 in cash.
Subh-Marcano's sentencing is set for July 1, where U.S. District Judge Robert N. Chatigny will preside in Hartford. He faces a minimum sentence of five years in prison, with a potential maximum of life imprisonment. Subh-Marcano remains detained since the time of his arrest.
This investigation involved the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Waterbury Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Natasha Freismuth is prosecuting under the Project Safe Neighborhoods program. PSN aims to reduce violent crime by focusing on the most violent offenders and collaborating with local prevention and reentry programs.
