Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen has announced the sentencing of Camarion Almond, 21, from Lincoln, Nebraska. Almond has been convicted for the unlawful disposition of a firearm. On April 17, 2025, United States District Court Judge Susan M. Bazis sentenced Almond to 57 months in federal prison. Following his time in detention, he will serve a 3-year period of supervised release, as no parole exists in the federal system.
The investigation began in 2023 when the Lincoln Police Department initiated inquiries into Clifton Davis. Authorities linked several guns purchased by Davis to crimes, including a homicide. Examinations of Davis’s phone, through search warrants, revealed he had transferred multiple firearms to Almond. Text communications showed that on February 17, 2023, Almond contacted Davis after a minor expressed interest in buying firearms. Almond later informed the minor that guns were available, and they briefly discussed pricing. Discussions continued in March, involving others who contacted Almond to inquire about additional guns from Davis.
Judge Bazis highlighted the public risk posed by providing guns to those prohibited from acquiring them legally. One of the firearms Almond transferred to the minor was later used in a homicide.
Clifton Davis has already been sentenced to 16 months in prison for his involvement in this case.
This investigation was conducted by the Lincoln Police Department.
