Adam Brosius, a 60-year-old resident of Delray Beach, has pleaded guilty to his involvement in a scheme which unlawfully distributed misbranded and adulterated HIV drugs. Brosius was part owner of Safe Chain Solutions LLC, a pharmaceutical distributor based in Cambridge, Maryland, selling what appeared to be legitimate prescription drugs to pharmacies across the United States.

Court documents reveal that Brosius, along with his co-conspirators, illegally obtained HIV drugs diverted from the regulated pharmaceutical chain. They purchased bottles labeled as HIV medication from street sources, repackaged them, and sold them to Safe Chain with false documentation, concealing their true origin. Despite being aware of the false documentation, Brosius continued purchasing these discounted drugs. This led to the resale of diverted drugs to pharmacies, resulting in unsuspecting patients receiving mislabeled medications. In one case, a patient consumed an anti-psychotic drug instead of their prescribed HIV medication, causing them to pass out for 24 hours.

Brosius has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and faces a potential 20-year prison sentence. His sentencing is scheduled for August 29, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, before United States District Court Judge William P. Dimitrouleas.

The case's announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne for the Southern District of Florida, along with Acting Special Agent in Charge Jesus Barranco from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, and Acting Special Agent in Charge Brett Skiles from the FBI's Miami Field Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Alexander Thor Pogozelski and Trial Attorney Jacqueline DerOvanesian.

Further information about the case can be accessed through the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida and the District Court for the Southern District of Florida's respective websites.
