Isaac Augustin Santoyo, a 25-year-old resident of Nampa, was sentenced to 97 months in federal prison. He faced charges of seven counts of cocaine distribution, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of a firearm in relation to drug trafficking, as announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Justin Whatcott. U.S. District Court Judge Amanda K. Brailsford also imposed a five-year supervised release term and ordered Santoyo to pay a $9,000 fine along with a $900 special assessment.

Court records reveal that Santoyo had a prior conviction related to cocaine possession in Ada County back in 2017. Following the completion of his probation for that conviction, he continued cocaine distribution activities in Canyon County. From October 2023 to April 2024, Santoyo was involved in drug sales to law enforcement during controlled buys on seven occasions, with a total distribution of 868 grams of cocaine.

A search warrant executed at Santoyo's residence led to the seizure and eventual forfeiture of $25,291, a semi-automatic handgun, and 174 grams of cocaine. Santoyo entered a guilty plea to all nine offenses on January 16, 2025.

Acting U.S. Attorney Whatcott acknowledged the contributions of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Nampa Police Department, the Meridian Police Department, Idaho State Police, and Idaho Probation and Parole in handling the case.
