A Las Vegas man has been sentenced by Judge Richard F. Boulware II to five years in prison followed by four years of supervised release. The sentence was handed down for manufacturing and selling firearms without serial numbers and machine gun conversion devices utilizing a 3-D printer.
Court documents reveal that James Mosqueda engaged in dealing firearms without a Federal Firearms License between September 2023 and November 2023. He sold a range of firearms, including a 9mm privately made firearm (PMF) and a .45 caliber pistol in September 2023. His activities in October 2023 included the sale of three 9mm PMFs, a silencer, and numerous machine gun conversion devices, which turn semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic ones. Additionally, Mosqueda distributed 1,061 grams of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Mosqueda pleaded guilty to several charges, including engaging in the business of dealing or manufacturing firearms without a license, trafficking in firearms, distribution of methamphetamine, and unlawful transfer or possession of a machine gun.
