The Judicial Nominating Commission for County Court in Nebraska's Eleventh Judicial District is set to conduct a public hearing on June 3, 2025. This hearing, as confirmed by Supreme Court Chief Justice Jeffrey J. Funke, will take place at 10:00 a.m. CDT at the Lincoln County Courthouse, North Platte. The hearing aims to evaluate candidates to fill the vacancy left by the retiring Judge Edward D. Steenburg at the county court. The judge's office is based in North Platte, Lincoln County.

Prospective candidates interested in applying for the position are advised to obtain the Judicial Vacancy Application package from the Nebraska Judicial Branch website. Completed applications should be submitted by 3:00 p.m. CDT on May 13, 2025, either electronically or through the mail. Applicants are encouraged to confirm their applications' timely receipt as no extensions will be given for delivery failures. Wrongly addressed applications may not be acknowledged, potentially without an error notification to the sender. Including email addresses for responses to specific questions in the Personal Data Sheet is also required.

After the deadline, a public notice will announce the candidates and detail how to provide public testimony or submit information to the Judicial Nominating Commission. The commission's member list is available on the Nebraska Judicial Branch website.
