Isaac Abraham Sandoval Lopez, 36, from Sinaloa, Mexico, received a sentence of four years and nine months in prison. U.S. District Judge Kirk E. Sherriff delivered the sentence on Monday for charges related to the possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin, as announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith.

The case originated following a traffic stop on June 26, 2024, when officers halted Sandoval Lopez on Interstate 5 in Fresno County due to a traffic violation. During the search, authorities uncovered multiple bags, suitcases, and backpacks containing narcotics inside the vehicle. The seizure included roughly 230 pounds of methamphetamine, 5 pounds of fentanyl, and 2 pounds of heroin.

The investigation was conducted by the California Highway Patrol in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Cody S. Chapple prosecuted the case.
