A jury in Denver has found Leonardo Medina guilty of several charges related to drug trafficking, according to an announcement from the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. Medina was convicted on multiple counts, including conspiracy to commit offenses involving methamphetamine, distribution, and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and more significant quantities of methamphetamine.

Evidence presented during the five-day trial revealed that Medina ran a large drug-trafficking organization within Colorado. He distributed substantial amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine to dealers in regions such as Denver and Colorado Springs during 2021 and 2022. In July 2022, Medina coordinated a delivery of over 40 pounds of methamphetamine from Mexico. This shipment was intercepted by law enforcement in Texas following a request from Colorado investigators.

The investigation was carried out by Homeland Security Investigations in cooperation with the Denver Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Dustin Andre-Vandenberg and Sonia Dave.
