Robert Lee Glover, 43, known by the alias "Chopz," has pled guilty to fentanyl distribution charges in Huntington, West Virginia. During court proceedings, it was revealed that on June 10, 2024, Glover sold around 14.6 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant for $1,000 at a residence on Mount Union Road in Huntington. Glover acknowledged arranging and completing this transaction. He also confessed to selling an additional 18.27 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl and xylazine, a veterinary tranquilizer called "tranq," to the same informant at the same location on June 27, 2024.
Glover's sentencing is set for July 28, 2025. He potentially faces up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine.
Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the guilty plea, commending the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cabell County Sheriff's Office for their investigative work. United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers presided over the hearing, with Assistant United States Attorney Joseph F. Adams prosecuting the case.
The prosecution is part of Operation Synthetic Opioid Surge (SOS), an initiative aimed at decreasing the supply of deadly synthetic opioids in high-impact areas.
