U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Arquan Butler, also known as Easy, has pleaded guilty to narcotics conspiracy in the federal court of Buffalo, New York. The 26-year-old from Buffalo admitted his role in the conspiracy before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo. The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and could result in a maximum of 40 years of imprisonment, along with a fine of up to $5,000,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis A. Testani is managing the case. According to Testani, Arquan Butler conspired with his brother, Jahaun Butler, between May and July 2023 to distribute fentanyl and crack cocaine. Over this period, they sold around 72 grams of fentanyl and roughly two grams of crack cocaine to an individual cooperating with law enforcement on ten separate occasions.
Jahaun Butler had already been sentenced to 41 months in prison.
The investigation involved several agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration under Special Agent-in-Charge Frank A. Tarentino III of the New York Field Division, the New York State Police led by Major Amie Feroleto, and the Amherst Police Department directed by Chief Scott Chamberlin.
Sentencing for Arquan Butler is scheduled to take place on August 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. before Judge Vilardo.
