Alexander Wright, a 33-year-old resident of Chester, South Carolina, has entered a guilty plea on charges of methamphetamine distribution. His guilty plea has been accepted as part of an ongoing legal case.

The investigation into Wright's activities was prompted by complaints from his neighbors. They reported frequent visits by vehicles that arrived at Wright's residence and left shortly after. This information led to police surveillance, which confirmed the neighbors' reports.

To gather further evidence, law enforcement employed an informant who conducted several drug buys from Wright. On June 5, 2023, under police observation, the informant purchased methamphetamine from Wright. The transaction involved 2 ounces of the drug, placed in a car door on Wright's property, and the informant left payment inside the vehicle. The methamphetamine recovered was found to have a 96% purity rate and a total weight of 56.42 grams.

Upon conviction, Wright faces a life sentence in federal prison. He also risks a fine up to $10 million and a subsequent five-year supervision period. "United States District Judge Mary Geiger Lewis accepted the guilty plea and will sentence Wright after receiving and reviewing a sentencing report prepared by the U.S. Probation Office."

The FBI Columbia Field Office, the Department of Homeland Security Investigations, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Chester County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation. The case prosecution is led by Assistant U.S. Attorney William K. Witherspoon.
