United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that Aniruth Kuppusamy, a 25-year-old from Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, has been indicted on several charges, including manufacturing and possessing child pornography, receiving child pornography, and using a facility of interstate commerce to entice a minor to partake in sexually explicit conduct.

Court documents reveal that Kuppusamy, in custody since last month's arrest, allegedly communicated with Minor #1, a known minor, arranging for videos of a sexual nature to be sent. The indictment claims these visual materials were obtained via interstate commerce and found on an iPhone 15.

Kuppusamy is accused of using the internet and cellular services to coerce the minor into activities that constituted child pornography offenses. He could face a minimum of 15 years in prison, potentially extending to a life sentence.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative aiming to counter child sexual exploitation since 2006. This program coordinates federal, state, and local resources for prosecuting child exploitation crimes and aiding victims. The DOJ provides further information at projectsafechildhood.gov.

The FBI conducted the investigation, with Assistant United States Attorney Danielle Bateman leading the prosecution.

It's important to remember that an indictment is merely an accusation, and the defendant remains innocent until proven guilty in court.
