Quindelle Addison, a 48-year-old New Orleans resident, received his sentence on March 26, 2025, for violating the Federal Gun Control Act and the Federal Controlled Substances Act. United States District Judge Ivan L. R. Lemelle handed down the sentence, as announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson.

Court records indicate that on August 29, 2023, Addison, along with four others, plotted to distribute methamphetamine to an undercover Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) agent and another individual at a New Orleans apartment. Addison sold about seven grams of pure methamphetamine to the undercover agent.

After the sale, a co-defendant arranged for the agent and the individual to return the following day for more drugs. Upon their arrival, they were robbed at gunpoint. Agents monitoring the situation responded promptly, causing the robbers to cease their actions and prompting everyone in the apartment to flee. The undercover agent and the individual attempted to escape via a third-floor balcony, with the agent subsequently suffering severe injuries from a fall.

This led to the indictment of Addison and five co-defendants on eleven counts related to drug trafficking and armed robbery, to which they subsequently pled guilty. Addison was found guilty of methamphetamine conspiracy, distribution of methamphetamine, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and maintaining drug premises. He was the final defendant to receive sentencing.

Judge Lemelle sentenced Addison to 118 months in prison, followed by a 4-year supervised release term, and imposed a mandatory special assessment fee of $500.

The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative focused on reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities. The investigation was led by the ATF with assistance from Louisiana State Police, the FBI, the New Orleans Police Department, and Crimestoppers GNO. The prosecution team included Assistant United States Attorneys David Haller, Senior Litigation Counsel and PSN Coordinator, and Nolan Paige, Chief of the Narcotics Unit.
