Attorney General Ken Paxton has obtained a temporary injunction against Maria Margarita Rojas, targeting her network of clinics in the Houston area. These clinics were accused of providing illegal abortions and practicing medicine without proper licensing.

“This network of clinics illegally aborted unborn children and practiced medicine without a license, intentionally deceiving and endangering the communities they claimed to serve,” stated Paxton. He further emphasized, “Today’s win means these fake clinics will remain closed and be prevented from harming anyone else while the case continues. Life is sacred and I will always do everything in my power to protect the most vulnerable and uphold Texas law.”

Earlier, on March 17, Paxton announced the arrest of Rojas and two other individuals associated with her. They were charged with operating the clinics unlawfully and employing unlicensed personnel presented as medical professionals. The Attorney General’s Healthcare Program Enforcement Division swiftly obtained a temporary restraining order to halt their operations.

A Texas district court judge has now issued a temporary injunction ensuring that Rojas’s clinics will not resume operations after the expiry of the restraining order.
