In a recent case in the Southern District of Alabama, Antonio Eirby, 34, was sentenced to 105 months in prison, followed by a supervised release period of three years, after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a felon. Court documents reveal that Eirby has two prior felony convictions. He was previously convicted of domestic violence strangulation and burglary in the second degree, both on record with the Mobile County Circuit Court.

The incident leading to his latest conviction took place on October 3, 2023. On that day, officers from the Mobile Police Department answered a call regarding a robbery on Highway 90. Upon their arrival, a victim reported that Eirby had confronted him in a parking lot and robbed him of his firearm. Eirby was soon located and apprehended on foot by officers a short distance from the scene. The stolen firearm was found on him and was subsequently returned to its lawful owner.

The announcement of the sentencing was made by U.S. Attorney Sean Costello. The investigation that led to Eirby's prosecution was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms along with the Mobile Police Department. On behalf of the United States, Assistant U.S. Attorney Tandice Blackwood took charge of prosecuting the case.
