A Pittsburgh resident has been sentenced to 102 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for federal drug trafficking violations. Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced the sentencing of Jervey Shackelford, 45, which was handed down by Senior United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti on March 25, 2025.
Court documents revealed that Shackelford delivered or attempted to deliver fentanyl and heroin-fentanyl mixtures to an undercover officer on six occasions between February and June 2022 in Pittsburgh’s North Side. In October 2023, Pittsburgh police executed a search warrant on Shackelford and his vehicle, seizing over 60 grams of fentanyl and 10 grams of cocaine, along with drug packaging materials. Another search warrant executed in August 2024 at an apartment used by Shackelford led officers to recover 11 bricks of fentanyl and heroin, as well as approximately 100 grams of fentanyl and a fentanyl analogue.
Shackelford was found with the intent to distribute more than a quarter kilogram of mixtures containing fentanyl, its analogues, and heroin during these incidents.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael R. Ball. Acting U.S. Attorney Rivetti praised the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their roles in the investigation that resulted in Shackelford's prosecution.
