The Minnesota Attorney General's Office has been recognized with a 2025 USA Today Top Workplaces award, marking the fourth consecutive year it has received this honor. The award acknowledges organizations with 150 or more employees that have cultivated exceptional workplace cultures. This year, the office achieved a new milestone by ranking 63rd among similar-sized employers nationwide, out of 873 organizations with 150-499 employees. It is also the highest-ranked among all 41 Minnesota employers of the same size.
Out of over 1,500 awarded employers across the United States, only 15 are state government agencies. The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office stands out as the sole attorney general's office to receive this recognition.
In addition to the national accolade, the office has also been named a Star Tribune Top Workplace for four years in a row.
Attorney General Keith Ellison has implemented policies to support and engage employees, including monthly town hall meetings and annual divisional meetings to gather feedback and encourage employee participation in decision-making processes. Ellison stated, “At the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, we treat everyone with respect, we listen to feedback, and we value everyone’s contributions in the workplace.”
The office supports Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) for various demographics such as veterans and LGBTQ+ staff and maintains committees focused on enhancing work experience through training and diversity initiatives.
Ellison praised his staff as "some of the most talented, caring, and dedicated people," expressing pride in their collective achievements for Minnesota.
The Top Workplaces Award winners are determined through confidential employee surveys conducted by Energage, which evaluates responses based on Workplace Experience Themes indicating high performance.
