The Michigan Supreme Court is set to hold oral arguments in the case of People v. Curtis Allen Morris at Lowell High School on April 23, 2025. This event is part of the "Court Community Connections" program, which aims to educate high school students about the judicial process by bringing court proceedings to various communities across the state.

The session will take place at the Lowell High School Performing Arts Center, with proceedings beginning at 10:00 a.m. and oral arguments starting at 10:30 a.m. A community activity led by Lowell High School Performing Arts students will also be observed during this event.

A student debriefing session will be conducted by MSC Chief Commissioner Daniel C. Brubaker and Commissioner Liza Moore before and after the oral arguments. The public is invited to attend, and registration is encouraged for those interested.

The Michigan Supreme Court Justices, along with judges from Kent County and Ionia County, will participate in this educational initiative alongside students from several high schools including Allendale, Cedar Springs, Coopersville, Greenville, Kenowa Hills, Sparta, Lakewood, Belding, Ionia, and Saranac.

Online streaming of the oral arguments will be available for those unable to attend in person. Regular updates can be followed on X (formerly Twitter). Media representatives are advised to arrive by 9:30 a.m., as proceedings begin at approximately 10:00 a.m., followed by a public debriefing at 11:15 a.m., and a reception with the Justices around 12:10 p.m.

For filming or photography permissions during the hearing, requests must be submitted three days prior to the event through the MSC Public Information Office.
