Attorney General Ken Paxton has issued a Civil Investigative Demand (CID) to Community Capital Partners, LP (CCP) as part of an ongoing investigation into the real estate development project known as EPIC City. This development is located near Josephine, Texas, and is associated with the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC).

Community Capital Partners was established by EPIC. Promotional materials from EPIC have indicated that CCP was "created by EPIC" and that EPIC is the "only beneficiary of profits" from the development.

The CID seeks to gather information pertinent to potential violations of Texas consumer protection laws. Attorney General Paxton stated, “Under my watch, there will be zero tolerance for any person or entity that breaks Texas law.” He added, “My office has an open and ongoing investigation into EPIC City, which has raised a number of concerns, and this CID will help ensure that any potential violation of state law is uncovered.”
