Prim F. Escalona, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama

An Arizona man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Prim F. Escalona and Special Agent in Charge Carlton L. Peeples of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Birmingham Division.

Jeremiah Warren, aged 42 from Vail, Arizona, received the sentence from United States District Judge Liles C. Burke. On October 4, 2023, Warren admitted guilt to charges of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

The plea agreement revealed that Warren supplied Isaiah Oneal Rice from Athens, Alabama, with drugs over several years. Warren sent these substances—including crystal methamphetamine—via the United States mail service. Between February and May 2022, he mailed over 34 pounds of controlled substances into Northern Alabama.

Rice faced prosecution as well and was sentenced to nearly 15 years in prison on January 10, 2024. He pleaded guilty on July 27, 2022, to multiple charges including Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute methamphetamine, Unlawful Distribution of Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Distribute methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force with assistance from the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office and Athens Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney John M. Hundscheid prosecuted the cases.
