Jolene Armentrout, a 50-year-old resident of Grand Island, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 94 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher on March 20, 2025, in Omaha. Following her release from prison, Armentrout will serve a three-year term of supervised release.
The case against Armentrout stems from events that occurred on January 30, 2024. She and co-conspirator Lonnie Mason traveled from Omaha to Los Angeles to purchase 25 pounds of methamphetamine. Meanwhile, Robert Burkhardt drove Mason’s car from Omaha to Las Vegas with Stephanie Cummings. The group reconvened in Las Vegas.
Mason and Cummings returned to Nebraska by plane while Armentrout and Burkhardt drove the purchased methamphetamine back from California. On February 4, 2024, law enforcement stopped their vehicle and discovered the drugs hidden inside.
Burkhardt received a sentence of 57 months in prison. Cummings pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and is awaiting sentencing on April 9, 2025. Mason also pled guilty and will be sentenced on May 7, 2025.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration alongside the Grand Island Police Department as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. OCDETF focuses on dismantling high-level criminal organizations using a collaborative approach involving multiple agencies.
