Two men, John Christopher Davis and Douglas DeAngelo Wade, have been sentenced to 188 months in prison by Chief U.S. District Judge David Bunning for their roles in a cocaine distribution conspiracy. Davis, from Cincinnati, Ohio, was also convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, while Wade, from Covington, Kentucky, was convicted of distribution of cocaine.

Court documents reveal that between January 1, 2023, and January 26, 2024, Davis and Wade conspired with several co-defendants to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine in Kenton County and other locations. Wade led the operation by supplying cocaine to Davis and others for distribution.

Both individuals have prior convictions related to drug trafficking. Davis has past convictions for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base. Similarly, Wade was previously convicted for distributing over 50 grams of cocaine base.

Co-defendant Gregory Soard received a sentence of 96 months in January 2025, while Stephen Russ was sentenced to 105 months in December 2024. Terry Mitchell is due for sentencing on April 4, followed by Michael Labordeaux on May 9.

Under federal law requirements, both Davis and Wade must serve at least 85 percent of their sentences. Upon release, Davis will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for six years; Wade will be under supervision for eight years.

The sentences were announced by Paul McCaffrey, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Michael Stansbury from the FBI's Louisville Field Office; and Chief Brian Valenti of the Covington Police Department.

The case investigation was carried out by the FBI and Covington Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tony Bracke is handling prosecution duties.
