Kevin Perez, also known as "Kay Flock," has been convicted for his role as the leader of the Sev Side / DOA street gang. Acting U.S. Attorney Matthew Podolsky announced the conviction, emphasizing Perez's involvement in a series of gang-related shootings.

Podolsky stated, “Kevin Perez, a/k/a ‘Kay Flock,’ was the leader of a neighborhood street gang known as Sev Side / DOA, and with that gang, he committed a series of gang-motivated shootings." He highlighted how Perez used his position as a drill rapper to instill fear within the community through violent actions and rap lyrics that threatened rivals and taunted victims.

The unanimous jury decision marks an end to what Podolsky described as a "cycle of violence" perpetuated by Perez. The acting U.S. Attorney praised the efforts of career prosecutors and law enforcement partners who contributed to this outcome.

Podolsky concluded with a firm stance on addressing gang violence: “This Office remains resolute in its commitment to prosecuting gang members who sow fear and spread violence on our city streets.”
