A Cuban national, Anoy Lopez-Bles, appeared in court on Wednesday before United States Magistrate Judge Nancy J. Koppe in Las Vegas. He faces charges of allegedly robbing a bank using a replica firearm. The incident occurred on February 1, 2025.

Lopez-Bles, aged 50, has a history of criminal activity with six prior felony convictions, including bank robbery and various burglary and drug-related offenses in Nevada. Additionally, he has five misdemeanor convictions for domestic violence, drug offenses, and larceny. He has also failed to appear in court 20 times and violated probation or parole over ten times.

He is charged with one count of bank robbery. A jury trial is set for May 19, 2025, before Chief United States District Judge Andrew P. Gordon.

If found guilty, Lopez-Bles could face up to 20 years in prison. The sentence will be determined by a federal district court judge who will consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines along with other statutory factors.

The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Sue Fahami for the District of Nevada and Special Agent in Charge Spencer L. Evans for the FBI Las Vegas Division.

The case was investigated by the FBI and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada.

It is important to note that an indictment is merely an accusation, and Lopez-Bles is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
