U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Dylan C. Irvin, a 26-year-old from Bradford, Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty to the charge of receipt of child pornography. The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara and carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, with a maximum potential sentence of 20 years.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango, who is prosecuting the case, explained that in June or July 2023, Irvin engaged in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl and recorded the act using his cell phone. He then received the video on a Snapchat account he controlled. Irvin was arrested on March 5, 2024, on state charges related to this incident, at which time his cell phone was confiscated by authorities. A search revealed the incriminating video.
The investigation leading to Irvin's plea involved multiple law enforcement agencies: the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia; the New York State Police led by Major Amie Feroleto; and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office directed by Sheriff Eric Butler.
Irvin's sentencing is set for May 28, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., where Judge Arcara will deliver the final judgment.
