United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III delivered remarks at his swearing-in ceremony at the James T. Foley U.S. Courthouse in Albany, New York. During the event, Sarcone expressed gratitude to Chief Judge Sannes, the Judges of the Northern District of New York, Clerk of the Court John Domurad, and First Assistant U.S. Attorney Dan Hanlon for their support.

Sarcone thanked his family, including his wife Cecilia and children John Anthony, Francesca, and Juliet. He acknowledged other family members present and absent for their steadfast support. "Thanks, and a big shout out to my close confidante and friend Ola Hawatmeh," he said.

He recognized various political figures such as Governor George Pataki and Senate Leader Rob Ortt for their ongoing support. He also expressed appreciation to Ambassador Elise Stefanik for her backing of his appointment.

Sarcone shared personal reflections about being sworn in on a family bible passed down through generations, honoring his late grandmother Dot Hickey Fiorito. He noted that February 28 would have been his father's 87th birthday.

Reflecting on his previous role during the Trump Administration as Regional Administrator for the United States General Services Administration's Northeast Caribbean Region, Sarcone emphasized the significance of federal courthouses: "These federal courthouses mean something – they project the majesty and authority of our government."

Since taking office two weeks ago, Sarcone highlighted significant achievements by his team: a Nigerian citizen pleaded guilty to bank fraud; a woman admitted involvement in an alien smuggling conspiracy; and a former music teacher was convicted of sexual abuse crimes.

He stressed that judgment is key to being a good prosecutor rather than educational background or career history: "What matters is judgment." Sarcone aims to restore public confidence in the justice system by prioritizing non-political enforcement of federal laws.

As U.S. Attorney, Sarcone plans to focus on securing borders, maintaining community safety, combating corruption and human trafficking, protecting seniors from scams, ending lawlessness related to drugs, and addressing hate crimes.

He concluded with a commitment to upholding students' rights against harassment based on religious beliefs: "I pledge to dedicate steadfast resources to root out hate crimes of all kinds."

Sarcone expressed gratitude towards those attending his swearing-in ceremony: "Thank you all for honoring me with your presence."
