Applications are now open for a part-time justice court judge position in Willard, Utah. The new appointee will succeed Judge Kevin Christensen, who has resigned.
Candidates for the Box Elder County judgeship must meet several criteria: they must be at least 25 years old, a U.S. citizen, have been a Utah resident for at least three years, and hold a law degree qualifying them to apply for bar admission in any U.S. state. Additionally, applicants must reside in Box Elder County or an adjacent county by the time of appointment or before assuming their duties.

Prospective candidates need to complete an application form found on the same site. The annual salary for this position ranges from $24,556 to $31,527 and does not include benefits. In accordance with Utah law, the Judicial Nominating Commission must provide at least three nominees to the Box Elder County Commission within 45 days of its initial meeting. The Commission then has 30 days to select a finalist whose selection requires certification by the Utah Judicial Council.
