A Buffalo man has been sentenced for the crime of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Henry Ford, aged 37, received a sentence equivalent to time served, approximately 11 months, along with three years of supervised release. This decision was handed down by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr., as announced by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Donna M. Duncan managed the case and provided details about the investigation. In April 2024, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Ford and at his residence on Erb Street in Buffalo. During this operation, officers discovered a loaded handgun in Ford's pocket, which had been reported stolen from Georgia in September 2019. A subsequent search of his residence led to the recovery of another firearm and ammunition; this firearm had been reported stolen within Buffalo in March 2024.
Ford's legal troubles are compounded by his previous conviction for a felony in Erie County Court back in October 2008, making it illegal for him to possess firearms.
The case involved collaboration between multiple agencies: the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives led by Special Agent-in-Charge Bryan Miller and the Buffalo Police Department under Commissioner Alphonso Wright.
