During a week-long enforcement operation from May 10 to May 16, 2025, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona filed immigration-related criminal charges against 310 individuals. Of these cases, 125 involved aliens illegally re-entering the United States, while another 170 were charged with illegal entry. Additionally, 15 individuals faced charges related to smuggling illegal aliens within the District of Arizona.
These legal actions were supported by several federal law enforcement agencies including Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE ERO), ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), U.S. Border Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Among recent cases is "United States v. Angelica Ramos-Lopez," where on May 10, Angelica Ramos-Lopez was charged with conspiracy to transport an illegal alien, birth certificate fraud, and aggravated identity theft after attempting to transport a child across an immigration checkpoint using fraudulent documents.
Another case is "United States v. Yolanda Mendivil-Diaz." On May 13, Yolanda Mendivil-Diaz was charged with reentry of a removed alien after previously being deported in 2014 following a felony conviction for conspiracy to sell or transfer narcotic drugs.
In "United States v. Jose Herrera Daniel," on May 14, Jose Herrera Daniel faced charges for attempting to export ammunition illegally into Mexico after officers discovered over six thousand rounds hidden in his vehicle at the Douglas Port of Entry.
A criminal complaint serves as a method for charging individuals with crimes but does not imply guilt; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
These cases are part of Operation Take Back America aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations through coordinated efforts involving multiple justice department initiatives.
