A Dauphin County man has been indicted for firearm offenses, as announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Myzere Hill, 21, was charged by a federal grand jury on February 5, 2025.
Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that the indictment alleges Hill possessed a Glock firearm with a machinegun-conversion device on or about January 31, 2024. It is further alleged that Hill had the firearm while being an unlawful user of and addicted to a controlled substance.
This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program designed to reduce violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement and communities. The Department launched a strategy to strengthen PSN on May 26, 2021, focusing on fostering community trust, supporting violence prevention organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring outcomes.
The investigation was conducted by the Lower Paxton Township Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney K. Wesley (Wes) Mishoe is handling the prosecution.
Federal law stipulates maximum penalties for these offenses at 25 years imprisonment, supervised release post-imprisonment, fines, and special assessments. Sentencing follows judicial consideration of federal statutes and guidelines.
It is important to note that indictments are merely allegations; individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
