Spokane, Washington - Andres Burgos-Silva from Othello, Washington, has been indicted on 11 criminal counts by a federal grand jury for the Eastern District of Washington. The charges include the production and receipt of child sexual abuse material, extortion, and making threats to victims. Acting United States Attorney Richard R. Barker announced that the indictment was returned on February 19, 2025. Burgos-Silva appeared in court for arraignment on February 26, 2025, at the U.S. District Court in Spokane.

The investigation began when detectives from the Othello Police Department gathered information suggesting that Burgos-Silva allegedly possessed child sexual abuse material involving children as young as six years old. Further allegations include contacting several minors through social media and threatening to distribute sexually explicit photos unless more such photos were provided by the minors.

During a search of Burgos-Silva's home in Othello, detectives seized electronic devices purportedly containing images of young children being sexually abused.

Homeland Security Investigations and the Othello Police Department are conducting the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Ann T. Wick is prosecuting the case.

An indictment is an allegation only; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
