A Harrisburg man, Kyle Malik Jones, has been sentenced to 160 months in prison for drug trafficking offenses. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced the sentencing on February 25, 2025. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Jennifer P. Wilson.
Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus reported that on March 17, 2021, Susquehanna Township Police discovered a stolen vehicle parked at a hotel parking lot. When the car alarm was triggered, Jones emerged from his hotel room to silence it. This led police to his room where they arrested him for vehicle theft and found significant quantities of drugs and firearms.
The items seized included 731 grams of methamphetamine, 221 grams of fentanyl, cocaine, a Ruger .40 caliber pistol with an obliterated serial number, a Hi-Point .380 caliber firearm, approximately $7,635 in cash, one pack of 300 small rubber bands, one digital scale, and two cell phones.
Jones entered a guilty plea on March 11, 2024, admitting possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. On May 26, 2021, the Department launched a strategy to enhance PSN by focusing on trust-building within communities and supporting organizations that prevent violence.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives alongside the Susquehanna Township Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys David C. Williams and Jeffrey St. John prosecuted the case.
