Tyree Eugene Rideaux, a 31-year-old resident of Henderson, Nevada, received a prison sentence of 132 months followed by 15 years of supervised release. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Diane J. Humetewa after Rideaux pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a minor on September 16, 2024.

The case involved a 16-year-old identified as Jane Doe, whom Rideaux met at a party in Phoenix before August 15, 2021. Jane Doe traveled with Rideaux and two other females to Inglewood, California. During this time, Rideaux instructed her to pretend she was 18 years old. Once in California, he placed her in an area known for high rates of prostitution and assigned her a fictitious name for online commercial sex advertisements. The money earned from these activities was given to Rideaux as directed by him. On August 15, 2021, Jane Doe managed to alert the authorities after convincing a sex buyer to take her to a hospital.

Rachel C. Hernandez, Acting United States Attorney, stated: “Predators who traffic in teenagers and force them into prostitution to support the trafficker’s own lifestyle are deserving of the harshest sentences.” She praised the diligent efforts that led to this outcome.

Francisco B. Burrola from ICE HSI Arizona emphasized the challenges faced by law enforcement officers in human trafficking cases involving children: “HSI is committed to ensuring sex traffickers face the fullest extent of the law by putting them behind bars for years – significant prison time rightly awaits this trafficker.”

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations with prosecution handled by the United States Attorney’s Office in Phoenix.
