Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez, and Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield are set to hold a series of Community Impact Hearings across the United States. These town halls aim to gather public input on the effects of federal firings and DOGE funding freezes. The inaugural hearing is scheduled for March 5th in Phoenix.

“These reckless firings of Arizonans and arbitrary cuts to critical federal services are outrageous, unacceptable, and deeply infuriating,” said Attorney General Mayes. She emphasized the disruption these actions have caused in Arizona, affecting jobs and essential services.

Attorney General Rayfield expressed similar concerns about the situation in Oregon: “The firings of many of our federal workers and the mess created by DOGE has created turmoil in people’s lives in Oregon.” He highlighted job losses and service disruptions due to insufficient staffing.

Attorney General Torrez criticized President Trump's policies: "President Trump’s decision to empower an unelected billionaire to access Americans’ private data, slash funding for federal student aid, stop payments to American farmers, and dismantle protections for working families isn’t a display of strength—it’s a direct attack on hardworking Americans." He noted that these policy decisions have significant consequences for families reliant on these services.

The hearings will provide a platform for community members to discuss how recent federal actions by President Trump and Elon Musk have impacted areas such as public safety and healthcare. Representatives from various sectors including cities, counties, non-profits, health care institutions, research bodies, former federal employees, and affected community members are encouraged to participate.

Participants at the hearing can share their experiences with a three-minute statement or submit written testimony via email. The event will be held at Central High School Gymnasium in Phoenix at 6 PM on March 5th. Attendees must RSVP beforehand.
