Today, Attorney General James Uthmeier announced a legal victory for consumers deceived by Revive Spas and More, LLC. The company and its owners, Dylan Lee Placker and Chelsie Dawn Placker, have been permanently banned from operating any business in Florida. This decision comes after numerous complaints about the company's misrepresentation of hot tubs sold to consumers.
“This company and its owners scammed Floridians by selling damaged, defective, dangerous, and inoperative used hot tubs—causing consumers to lose hard-earned money based on the company’s lies,” stated Attorney General James Uthmeier. “Thanks to our Consumer Protection Division, Revive Spas and More and its owners are permanently banned from operating in Florida.”
The Consent Final Judgment outlines several prohibitions against Revive and the Plackers. They are barred from owning or managing any business in Florida, receiving consumer monies in the state, or engaging with businesses related to hot tubs. Additionally, they cannot make false statements or restrict consumer opinions about them. They are also prohibited from using customer information acquired through previous sales.
The judgment includes a total monetary penalty of $471,095.50 against Revive and the Plackers. Due to their inability to pay this amount fully, they must provide $10,849.50 for consumer relief. This sum will be distributed pro rata among affected consumers once received. After this payment is made in full, the remaining portion of the judgment will be suspended.
