Raymond Davese, a 38-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., has been sentenced to 96 months in prison for carjacking a valet driver with the use of a taser. This announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

Davese entered a guilty plea on November 13, 2024, before D.C. Superior Court Judge Heidi M. Pasichow. He pleaded guilty to one count of carjacking and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.

The incident occurred on June 7, 2024, when Davese attacked a valet driver at a parking garage located at 221 Tingey Street Southeast. The government presented evidence that Davese approached the victim from behind, placed her in a headlock, and used a taser on her neck. After subduing the victim, he took the vehicle keys and fled in the SUV she had just parked. Shortly thereafter, Davese crashed the SUV and was apprehended by members of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Since his arrest on June 7, 2024, Davese has remained in custody.

U.S. Attorney Martin and Chief Smith expressed their appreciation for the efforts of those involved in investigating this case from the Metropolitan Police Department and acknowledged Assistant U.S. Attorney John Parron for his role in investigating and prosecuting the case.
