Magaly Travieso, 53, and Yudorki Ramirez, 52, both from Miami, Florida, are facing serious charges related to health care fraud and money laundering conspiracies. According to the allegations, Travieso operated ProMed Healthcare, L.L.C., a clinic that claimed to offer various medical services. It is alleged that between March 2019 and January 2023, Travieso conspired with others to submit over $20 million in fraudulent claims for reimbursement. ProMed reportedly received more than $10 million from these claims.

The authorities allege that the proceeds from this fraud were used by Travieso and her former spouse Ramirez for personal expenses. For instance, it is claimed that Travieso spent around $75,000 on a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover and approximately $750,000 on her residence in Miami. Similarly, Ramirez allegedly spent about $141,923 on his residence and transferred over $2 million into investment accounts.

In June 2024, law enforcement seized Travieso’s Range Rover along with more than $4 million in health care fraud proceeds from bank accounts linked to both individuals.

The announcement was made by Hayden P. O’Byrne of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida; Justin E. Fleck of the FBI's Miami Field Office; Isaac Bledsoe of the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) Miami Regional Office; and Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody for the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU).

The investigation is being conducted by several agencies including the FBI Miami Field Office and HHS-OIG. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Egozi is leading the prosecution while Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua Paster handles asset forfeiture.
