Extensive cooperation between the United States and Mexico led to a significant enforcement operation by the Mexico Attorney General’s Office, "Fiscalía General de la República" (FGR), to dismantle a transnational alien smuggling organization in Juarez, Chihuahua. This group is alleged to have been responsible for smuggling large numbers of individuals, including children, from Central America into El Paso, Texas. The organization also reportedly kidnapped aliens and extorted their families.

The operation resulted in the execution of arrest warrants for Brian Alan Torres Gonzalez and Soledad Morales Nava, both Mexican citizens who will face prosecution in Mexico with evidence provided by the U.S.

Supervisory Official Antoinette T. Bacon stated that "on her first day in office, the Attorney General directed the Department of Justice to prioritize efforts to achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations." She added that this action is an example of how Joint Task Force Alpha (JTFA) aids in targeting human smugglers through enhanced coordination in transnational law enforcement efforts.

U.S. authorities assisted through JTFA coordination since its creation in 2021. The task force focuses on disrupting smuggling networks that endanger migrants or are involved in organized crime. JTFA has led to over 350 arrests and significant seizures of assets.

Support from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (ICE HSI) El Paso was critical, working alongside the U.S. Border Patrol. ICE HSI-Mexico City facilitated coordination between American and Mexican agencies, with significant assistance from various components within the Justice Department.
