Texas woman pleads guilty to federal fentanyl distribution charge

Darlene Ruelas Flores, also known as Darlene Sheppard, from San Antonio, Texas, has pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma reported that Flores admitted guilt to one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

The indictment specified that on May 30, 2024, Flores had knowingly and intentionally possessed over 400 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl, intending to distribute it. This case was developed through an investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police Department.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted the plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report is being prepared while Flores remains in custody under the United States Marshals Service until sentencing.
