California Attorney General Rob Bonta has announced the filing of felony charges against Zachary Scrivner, a former Kern County Supervisor. The California Department of Justice conducted an investigation leading to these charges, which include three felony counts under Penal Code section 273a, subdivision (a), for alleged child abuse, and two felony counts under Penal Code section 30605, subdivision (a), for alleged possession of assault weapons. These charges have been filed in the Kern County Superior Court.

Attorney General Bonta stated, "No one is above the law. At the California Department of Justice, we will continue to fight for the people of California and hold those who break the law accountable."

It is emphasized that criminal charges are allegations and every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
