Kelvin Hunt, a 48-year-old resident of Rochester, New York, has pleaded guilty to charges of producing child pornography and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa and carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years, with the possibility of life imprisonment.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas M. Testani provided details on the case, noting that Hunt had previously been convicted in March 1995 for Sexual Abuse in the First Degree in Monroe County Court and served a sentence of two to six years. On February 2, 2024, Hunt forcibly entered the home of a 14-year-old victim in Rochester and raped her. He then took explicit photos using her cell phone and later moved her to another location where he assaulted her again.

Law enforcement apprehended Hunt on February 4, 2024. A search warrant executed at his hotel room led to the discovery of a loaded semi-automatic handgun and approximately 71 grams of heroin.

The investigation was conducted by several agencies including the Rochester Police Department under Chief David Smith, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office led by Sheriff Todd Baxter, the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia, and the United States Marshals Service directed by Marshal Charles Salina.

Sentencing is set for June 12, 2025.
