Braleigh Schossow, a 24-year-old resident of Fort Dodge, Iowa, has admitted guilt in a federal court for his role in distributing fentanyl. The plea was entered on February 11, 2025, in Sioux City.

During the hearing, it was revealed that Schossow and his co-conspirators were responsible for distributing at least 22 pounds of fentanyl from December 2020 to February 2024 in Fort Dodge and other locations.

The sentencing will be determined by United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand after a presentence report is completed. Until then, Schossow remains under the custody of the United States Marshals Service. He could face a minimum of ten years in prison and up to life imprisonment. Additionally, he may be fined $10 million and subjected to at least five years of supervised release following any prison term.
