Ryan Haskamp, a 36-year-old from Cincinnati, has been sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for his involvement in narcotics and firearms conspiracies. He is among 16 individuals convicted in this case. Haskamp pleaded guilty in September 2024 to charges including conspiring to distribute controlled substances and possessing firearms related to drug trafficking.

The defendants were indicted by a federal grand jury in July 2021. The indictment involved a conspiracy concerning significant quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, MDMA, DMT, marijuana, and ketamine. Law enforcement seized multiple firearms and large amounts of drugs during the investigation.

The case began following an August 7, 2020 police chase through Cincinnati that led to the deaths of two bystanders in Newport, Kentucky. Mason Meyer and Kirsten Johnson were charged federally shortly after the incident. Further investigations linked them to Haskamp's drug trafficking organization.

According to court documents, authorities had been surveilling Meyer on the day of the chase when he fled from police officers. This resulted in a pursuit through several cities until Meyer's vehicle struck pedestrians at Press on Monmouth restaurant patio in Newport.

Meyer and Johnson were found with methamphetamine and loaded firearms at the time of their arrest. Investigations revealed that Haskamp was supplying methamphetamine for redistribution across Cincinnati and Dayton using various locations as stash houses.

United States Attorney Kenneth L. Parker announced the sentencing along with officials from ATF, DEA, Cincinnati Police Department, Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force, and other agencies involved in the investigation.
