A jury in Washington, D.C., has found Deangelo Glover and Ronnie Wallace guilty of murder and related charges connected to the 2021 killing of Tyrone Wright. The verdict was announced by U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department.
Ronnie Wallace, aged 48, was convicted on multiple counts including first-degree murder while armed and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence for his role in Wright's murder. He was also found guilty of assault with intent to kill while armed for shooting another victim, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and carrying a pistol without a license.
Deangelo Glover, aged 33, was found guilty of second-degree murder and similar firearms charges. Sentencing for both individuals is set for May 2, 2025, under Superior Court Judge Jason Park.
The incident occurred on January 19, 2021, at the Mayfair Mansions Apartment complex in Washington D.C. According to evidence presented by the government, Wallace shot Tyrone Wright in retaliation for his brother's death. A bystander was also injured during the incident. Following Wallace's initial attack, Glover emerged from a nearby building and fired additional shots at Wright.
The investigation was conducted by the Metropolitan Police Department with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Andrea Coronado and Matthew Covert.
