United States Attorney David Metcalf welcomed Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (EDPA). Blanche was joined by Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove for the visit.
During their visit, Blanche, Bove, and Metcalf's leadership team discussed significant issues and cases in the District. The discussions included conversations with the office’s prosecutors and professional staff.
Blanche addressed EDPA personnel, highlighting Department of Justice priorities, such as combating transnational gangs, violent crime, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration. He expressed appreciation for the office’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and enhancing community safety.
Blanche and Bove also engaged with law enforcement leaders across federal, state, and local levels to emphasize partnership importance in improving safety. They toured Philadelphia’s Kensington area to witness the effects of the opioid crisis firsthand.
“We were honored to host Deputy Attorney General Blanche for the first visit of his tenure to a U.S. Attorney’s Office,” said U.S. Attorney Metcalf. “It was an opportunity to highlight both the important casework being done here to benefit the people of Eastern Pennsylvania, as well as the ongoing public safety challenges that remain. My office will continue to work in lockstep with the Department of Justice and our partners at every level to address those challenges and prosecute the criminals responsible.”
