Daniel Lacy, a 42-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 120 months in federal prison for his involvement in a fentanyl distribution conspiracy. The sentence was handed down on January 30, 2025, by Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr., in a federal court located in Omaha. After serving his time, Lacy will be subject to five years of supervised release. Parole is not available in the federal system.

The case against Lacy involved activities from February 2022 to February 2023, during which he collaborated with Emily Clayton and Taft Burtton to distribute fentanyl. On February 15, 2023, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the residence shared by Clayton and Lacy. They discovered various items related to drug distribution. That same day, Clayton contacted Burtton to bring more fentanyl; he arrived with 100 grams and was subsequently arrested.

A Crimestoppers tip led authorities back to Clayton's residence on February 24, 2023. During this visit, they seized an additional 40 grams of fentanyl along with a scale and $2,080 in cash.

Burtton received a sentence of 120 months on January 3, 2025. Clayton was sentenced later that month on January 30th to serve an imprisonment term of 84 months.

The investigation into this case was conducted primarily by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
