Orlando, Florida – The United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg has announced the unsealing of an indictment against three men from Orange County. Bradley D. Burch, Ronald E. Hubbard, Jr., and Douglas E. Arnett, Jr. are charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. These substances include 10 grams or more of a fentanyl analog mixture, 40 grams or more of a fentanyl mixture, and 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
Burch faces additional charges for possession of a firearm in furtherance of the drug conspiracy. If convicted on all counts, he could face a minimum penalty of 15 years to life in federal prison. Hubbard and Arnett each face a minimum penalty of 10 years to life in federal prison.
The indictment serves as a formal charge that the defendants have committed violations of federal criminal law. It is important to note that every defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Apopka Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Megan Testerman will prosecute the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. The Department launched an enhanced violent crime reduction strategy on May 26, 2021, focusing on fostering trust in communities, supporting violence prevention organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring outcomes.
